Hubby's Ah Ma

After a long period of being in coma, hub's Ah Ma took a turn for the worse and earlier today, went home to Lord.

In a way, it was a relief. The old lady was in a coma since Oct last year after she collapse from a radiation session earlier last year.

The poor old lady had a surgery to remove a lump on her face, then started with the radiation sessions. It was the 2nd or 3rd session when she collapse.

Regain consciousness once but collapse again and it lasted till now.

This morning, when we rushed to see her, the Doc was there. He concluded that her organs are failing, heart's weakening and told everyone to be prepared.

Hub seems fine, as this lady is her maternal grandmother and according to him, not that close... So not that bad.

As grand-children, our responsibilities are not that much but the least we can do is be there for the wake in the evenings to see the old lady off.

But seeing ah ma like this and the impending funeral reminds me of my own paternal grandmother's wake years ago. I was very close to my grandmother and her death saddens me, lots.

But, I thank God, my own grandmother went very peacefully in her sleep, with min. pain. For that, I truly truly thank God.
