In preparation for the GST hike

In another few minutes, the GST hike would have raked thru the whole nation, not sure how other families are preparing for it. But for us, we only bought 1 thing.

Bedsheets + Quilt Covers!

Yups. That's the only thing we bought. Cause, these bedsheets are darn expensive! And since we only have 2 sets now, we went to the Taka household fair earlier and got 2 more sets.

But, since, I went with hubby, I made him change our pillows as well... =P then, he wanted to get only 1 set but I made him get 1 more set of bedsheets since my sister gave us a set of Quilt Covers many moons ago.

So now, we have 2 brand new sets of everything in our Ikea cupboard. Which by the way, that cupboard is FULL of nothing but that!! Not we kiasu need to store so much, but it's simply owing to the simple fact that 1 set of bedsheet is HUGE and it take up lots of storage with the pillow cases and quilt and the protectors...

I guess, that cupboard cannot be used to keep anything else. Full to the brim already.

And the new things costs us close to $300. =/ Gosh...

The worse is, I spent on a Shu Uemura Lash Repair as well. I've heard good reviews about it and I wanted to try it too. "An invisible "mascara" that helps strengthen eyelashes against future damage. Use as an overnight treatment for lashes, or use as a mascara primer to help create the look of full, thick, and shiny lashes." But this baby costs me a freaking $41!!! But then again, as long as it works, $41 is WORTH it!!!

bandage

Last night, hubby decided that it's time to remove his smelly bandage.

And he very cutely asked me, if I want to take pictures of this momentous moment! And so, I did. =)Step by step, slowly does it. I think that's what hubby has in mind too when he was unwrapping his wrapped up feet. While I stayed by the side to snap photos. =) Kind of gloating at him you feel?

But, I was really very glad that he can remove the bandage. It's so troublesome for him when he needs to bathe and also need to keep the bandage dry. But it's so hot these days and his feet sweat too.

Poor thing!

Though he has removed the bandage, the swell is still there and he still can't walk freely and like before. Did ask him to go back to the sensei for review for another dosage of the smelly herbs to be placed and wrapped up.

Just hope that hubby's leg will recover soon.

*tsk*tsk* So careless...

See this...Can recognize what this is?

A wrapped ankle of sorts right?

More to the point, can recognize whose leg?

1 more photo ...So much hair!! Definitely not MY leg lor.

Yups! Hubby's leg!

That silly boy went jogging yesterday after the rain and then for goodness-know-what-reason, stepped on a stone and sort of sprained his ankle.

Was limping the whole night so, we went to see the TCM doc near our place.

Waited for almost an hour before it was his turn!!! Then the sensei rubbed and I don't know what, but from the expression on hubby's face, can see that it is really quite painful. But according to the sensei, it's not a bad sprain, but more like it was new and old injuries to cause the pain and also worsen the injury.

So, since last night, hubby's leg was wrapped in that bandage. Can remove tomorrow, but hor... it smells quite bad. =( Poor me, got to stand the smell of the herbal medicine. 1 more night to endure though.

Up till today, hubby says it still hurts. =/ Hope the ankle will heal soon.

an album

We've finally bought an album for our extra wedding photos! *Phew*Yeps, took us THIS long to finally find an album to slot in all the balance and excess photos. Which consists mainly of the shots that my colleague took. I also don't know why it took this long.

Got it from Precious Thoughts in J8 earlier while lunching with hubby. I would have preferred a smaller album but this is already the smallest so not much of a choice, just get it.

Anyway, it comes with a free pendant lookalike thing, which I've no idea on how to use... it has 300 slots for the photos and also some writing space on each and every page and last of all, there is a CD sleeve on the last page so that the CD can be stored there easily. Kind of a good idea isn't it? Else, still have to look for more space or storage box or something to store the CD at the end of the day. I do like all-in-one things. =)

Think, most likely, we'll also shift those shots that we have taken from Bridal Concept to be placed with this album, so that it will all be consolidated into 2 albums instead of 3 like now.

If we were not married

Then today would be the 110th month (9 years and 2 months) that we have been dating each other.

But since we are married, the dating date sorts of stop counting and instead, we are counting the days, months and years that we ARE married to each other.

I know, completely bo liao entry. Maybe, in another 10 months time, on this day, I may be tempted to just do another entry of this nature. =D

MY little blue spotty chair

I have MY own "little chair" now too!

Bought it in Ikea yesterday. It's also a stepping stool. So it's has a very good "grip" on the ground. My little chair looks very spotty hor?

Actually I saw and fell in love with a pinky stool but after testing it out, it's just a bit too high and it seems rather flimsy. Not that Ikea products are lousy, it's coz the pinky stool is meant for KIDS.. and to support my weight, I think I rather not risk it, what if I fell while sitting on it? Especially when others are around? Very embarrassing right?! So, just as well get this one.... it has a curve I guess, which caters to my butt rather well lor. hahaha...

But hor, those spots are another thing... hahahaha...

We're so tired

After the morning rush to complete our house work, we took a short rest and then we made our way to Ikea, Alexandra in the super duper hot scorching sun! Just because I was craving for their chicken wings and meatballs! =D

Took almost 45 mins to reach there, but the bus was really warm, the air con is as good as non existent!

Hurried to the Ikea restaurant, and between the 2 of us, we polished off the Chicken & Chips (friends' meal of the day), a slice of cheese cake, 10 pieces of meatballs, 2 wings and a slice of chocolate almond tart! Ooohhh... Lots of food, isn't it?!

Then we began to walk and shop around, just buy a few items and it's $50 gone! Din get anything for ourselves but all for the house.... hai... Then for a lack of don't know where to go, we head for Vivo (again!) when we've been there barely 2 weeks ago.

This time, I manage to get somethiing for myself. =) Got a pair of black heels to replace the old one from URS and after all the discount, I only paid $23+. Good deal! Happy with my purchases for the day, we decided to go home, after all, we were already tired, having been on our feet for at least 5 hours.

And just before we left, we met Irene and Melvin. Or rather, they saw us and came over to us to call us. Coz I was too busy focusing in front and carrying the heavy things. =/

Anyway, we left VIVO shortly after. Tired out. Worse! It was soooo packed on 54 we had to squeeze with everyone else.

Too tired to continue... will post up the heels I bought another time.

Night!

I must add, Vivo always has the COOLEST and most expensive cars around! This time, it's...

Yups! A formula one, F1 car. But hor, I really don't understand why people do not understand "Please do not touch." People were shaking the car, touching the car! Worse!!! There's parents who actually allow their children to climb over the barricade n if the staff did not come out to stop them, I'm sure the kids would have climb INTO the cockpit!

And no prize for guessing which ethic race these kids are lor. The parents were standing by the side and smiling, taking photos of their kids jumping up and down on the platform of the car too. Kids may not be able to read, but parents? BLEH!

Let's make merry

Ohhh.... We are expecting another group of friends coming to our humble place in a few days time. =)

This time, it's mostly friends from church who are all thankful and happy that my Godbro, Nick made a full recovery. So, we are having a gathering in honor of Nick... So far, I think the list stands at close to 20 people.... Actually, most of which are cause we are Nick's god siblings.

All of Godma's 6 god children will be here along with their respective family members and also not forgetting Nick's 2 godsons...plus Jeff and Emma.

Yups, that brings the whole list up to almost 20. Oh! I think the priest may be joining us as well.

And we are having pot luck... thank God, else how on earth am I going to prepare enough food for all of them?!

So far, we have Chicken Curry, Pizza, Hor Fun / Hokkein Mee, Potato / Egg Salad, Chocolate Fondue, cuttlefish balls, mutabak confirmed... and it seems, more are still coming in! =) As host, we'll get ready the drinks and all the various disposable cutlery and if I can, I'll probably prepare a dessert and also at least a green salad since there is so much meat and food.

We'll also be holding a surprise Bday party for one of them.... Shan't say who yet... we'll see then. Her Bday is the next day, so we'll celebrate early! =)

I'm looking forward to it already. Should be fun!!! =D

busy BuSy BUSY!!!

Busy day lei!!!

We woke up in the morning and quickly set to work clearing and making the house presentable for our guests before they actually physically come over.

When they (Alex & Carol, Clement, Wisely & Baby Clara and Dennis & Cindy) came over for the much awaited (me, at least!) baking session! See? Slightly less than half of the strength outside. The rest of us are all in the kitchen.

We made a few things today! All 8 of us were in the kitchen at 1 point in time, rushing in and out and preparing for the various items!

Alex & Carol did Nachos Cheese and baked Pasta which was very very yummy! I never knew that microwave can make the melted cheese sooo tasty on pasta and nachos! Gosh. It was really great!

Dennis & Cindy made bread pudding. I thought it was gonna be very tough but hey! It's actually quite simple! Next time, I'll try that myself again! Hubby likes it too.

Together with Wiselyn, we made cookies....
which Carol helped us to beautify with M&M's... Pretty isn't it?

I must say hor, she and Alex really have chemistry in and out of the kitchen! They are able to like communicate so well with each other and they seem to not have any of the tiffs that the normal couples seem to have. And they really work and go so well together! Wow! It's like the "model couple" that everyone looks up to! I think maybe, deep down, I already feel that we should be looking up to them and treat them as role models for young couples! =D

The cooked cookies...the first few batches before M&Ms.and while it was in the oven... baking.
The only reason that there was cookies photos was coz the only time I remembered the camera was when everything was done and it was only the cookies in the oven... =(

A baking/cooking session like this was quite fun. When everyone runs in and out of the kitchen... Can imagine 8 of us all in that small kitchen of mine?

Finally when all was done, we all sat around the coffee table and enjoy the food, yakking non stop all the time. Dinner was at a late 9pm or thereabouts and then we sat at the coffee table and yak some more even after almost the whole day spent together! Gosh... we can ALL really talk.

After the dinner, hubby and I of course have to do some cleaning and washing up. Between the 2 of us, it was done within an hour.

Fun session with all the various chefs! Also a way to de-stress for me after my horrible exams. hahaha... Maybe, can have another session before Clara comes and meet us? Or maybe my exams next sem then.. But maybe by then, we'll be making Christmas or even CNY goodies! hahahahaha...

What do you all think?

Boy... But now, I'm dead beat!
