Changes

With mutual agreement, 3rd person has come to share our house earlier this month.

Now, before you get all excited and start thinking of other things, it's definitely not what you think. Nope. We are not pregnant, though I can say our parents are dying for us to be.

We have decided to rent out a room to earn some extra moolah, for someone to occupy the spare room or what Alex coins it, the "Echo Room".

Our tenant is a lady from Korea and my goodness, she's so young! Only 25 this year and she has already been working here for the last coming to 2 years, in a hotel as a service staff. No idea what is her exact job scope but we have a copy of her details and all it says is "service staff".

She does seems rather nice and we get along rather well.

She got us a cake the other time and it tasted great! It not only tasted great, it looks pretty too! My guess is that it's some fruit cake.... but you know, hotels will have all sorts of fanciful names for their products, I have no idea what it's called but it sure looked pretty! Hubby and I finished the whole thing within 2 days, which is just as well since it cannot be kept for too long.

I'm not sure, but I think it could also be because, we heated up a dumpling (hand made by MIL) for her one day and the next day, she came back with the cake. Either way, I just hope and pray that we will get along and that she is the decent sort, not that kind to steal or create trouble for us kind. That is of course the risk we got to take since we can never be too sure. =/

And on the first night she came in, she got hubby and I a bookmark each too. Quite pretty. It has Mother of Pearl on the top of the bookmark. It sure looks and feel expensive too!

But of course there are some things that we have to put up with as well, having additional stuff in the kitchen and having the room door closed at all times, was something that we sort of not used to when it first started. But oh well, just make do with the changes since the extra cash that's coming in does helps to pay off the PUB bills and household maintenance and best of all, with her coming in, we can even engage a part time helper to come in fortnightly to clean up the mess at home.

The PT helper is at it now, as I type. She came in at about 5.30pm earlier and she has not stopped since. Ironing, Vacuuming, wiping all the surface area that's available, washing of both toilets and of course mopping. I can hear her as she gets busy in the kitchen now, wiping all the surface area, washing the toilets etc etc.

It sure feels good to be able to not do any housework at all. Or rather, just the simple vacuuming, mopping and laundry weekly is all right with me. But with the PT helper now, means, I can even be lazier and only do it fortnightly! And when she comes, she'll handle all the rest of the work, I can deal with the light cleaning weekly and leave the heavier ones to her. =)

Worth every single cent of our moolah. Especially when the weekend is so short and we still have to do all these... Bleh! It's even worse when we are having exams, study also no time still got to worry about housework.... Now, we can leave it all in peace. =)

I'm lazy

Since I'm lazy and hate house hold chores, I'm contemplating to get a part time helper to do the weekly chores.

Also, with hubby gone on ALL weekends for the next 7 weekends, I have to take over his share of chores as well and that will include, mopping, wiping the surfaces, washing of toilets and even possibly, ironing of his clothes.

So, yes, I'm contemplating part time help, then I can don't even need to do all these chores weekly. The market rate is like $10 per hour, so if it's 5 hours weekly, that will work out to be almost $200 on a 5 hour rate per month.

Should we invest in that? Would our finances be able to cover that now that since hubby is studying and need to pay for his school fees? Would I be able to take over the costs of this additionally?

But I really hated doing all these chores. If hubby was to do with me together, I don't mind it so much, but now that he's not here and I got to do everything, just the thought of it is daunting!

Or should I just bear with it for the next few weeks since that's all the time that hubby needs to go for his bridging courses and then weekends will pretty much be back to the same?

So now the crux is should I be lazy and am I willing to pay for my laziness?!

just LOOK at the time!

I find it hard to believe that I'm actually blogging at THIS time! My goodness....

I guess, this will be the first of many times that I'll be waking up so early while hubby is still sound asleep on the warm cozy bed. And why on earth I woke up so darn early right?

Well, for the fact that I actually wash clothes? Made soup the traditional boiling way and to fix breakfast, of course!

Not that I'm great or what, for a fact, Godma wakes up at 5.30 EVERY single day be it weekdays or weekends, all for the family, breakfast, food, chores, marketing... etc etc...

I guess, the female species is always the one who will do all these, and I think, even for me, it's no difference. Imagine, next time, with school going children in the morning session, I guess, usually the "mommy" will wake up early to prepare the kid and the "daddy" will have the responsibility of sending the kid to school if he drives, else, the mommy still have to bring the kid to take school bus or whatsoever...

Bottom line? I guess, mothers are always the self sacrificing creatures. Everything is done without grumbles or even a single word of "Thanks" is needed for all that are done.

Kind of feeling nostaglic this morning, I guess. Really, it's only after getting married, having to take care of the house and sometimes hubby makes me appreciate my momsy more!

Mothers' Day is coming... LOL.

Anway, left the washing machine running, soup boiling and I must get back to it soon... The fact that I woke up at 5.30am to do all this still sorts of lingers in my mind... coz I, myself find it unbelievable that I'm waking up so early to do all these!

P/S: The alarm rang for 1 straight minute before I woke up! And I think it's mre of the rain that woke me rather than the alarm. Maybe I should change the alarm sound to "Thunder and Raindrops". =D

is it me or is it u?

I don't know why, but these last few days, we've just been having cold wars, tiffs on and off.

The worse is, at this moment, I cannot remember what happened yesterday to cause me to be upset at u. Yet, I only remember the negative feelings that I am habouring inside me, since yesterday till now.

And, just now, because of a trival thing, I lost my cool too. I simply hate it when after doing a set of chores, realised, there's other things to be done. This something is what u could have done to make our live better too. Must wait for me to do?

I also hate it when I want to settle down to study / do to my TMA, u keep talking. I was ironing, u could have tell me about ur day or whatever it was that you wanna share. Must wait till I want to study then talk.

ARGG!!

Ok... I got to buck up. I cannot let myself sink so low and just think of all the horrible moments that we shared. Our lives cannot be just misery. What's the point of staying married or getting married if we are both perpetually miserable?!

So... Yups. U have been more proactive recently. Earlier, when I needed to hang my laundry, though you were watching TV, u came to help.

When I was struggling with the ironing board, you helped me flatten it.

Also, for the last few weeks, I've noticed that you boil water without me telling / asking you to.

All these are good signs =)

All right. I shall not dwell on all those times when you irriate me. I shall and must focus on your strengths instead.

*Mental note to self: Look at the good things! Look at the good things!*

Completed study room.

Got this drill set from Home Fix at a reasonable $59, at Velocity before the Thanksgiving mass and we lugged it around with us. I was quite excited to get to work setting up the itmes but then we lack some of the important itmes.. and also, hungry men and women are ANGRY people too. So we went for lunch and after buying the necessary drill, screws and the plastic holder to hold the screws in, we set to work.

After countless times of me holding vaccumm cleaner tube to the drilling point, with hubby drilling in... we finally made progress! I will say it's not bad in our 1st attempt in DIY-ing these blinds. I like our new improved study room look even better now!

I don't have to worry about others walking past and peering in and giving me a fright!

But hor, must say this, cheap drills come at a price too lar, the drill bit became smoothen out by the 4th hole we made.. =(

Sunday, December 31

Ahh... Cool!

After setting up the study room, we decided that the room is in need of ventaliation. Not that there's no window but when we are working late into the night, like now, we cannot be possibly opening ALL the windows right?

Scully, some sudden people come up to our room and gave me a fright how? Or worse!!! Some insects or don't know what thing come in how? Me is super frightened lor.

We went to J8 for dinner not knowing where else to go and had KFC. *sinful*sinful* Walked into Best Denki. Saw the TEAC, it was on promotion lei. $299 instead of $399 and it IS the set that I've been eyeing for sometime. But hubby and me discussed and felt that it was not necessary so.. din get that even though there was a $100 discount. Looked at the pots and pans, nothing caught our eyes since we seldome cook. Then since we needed a fan, looked at it also. But still nothing though there were some that was on promotion. We walked around and actually did not manage to get anything at all. So disappointing.

Took a toilet break and along came a bright spark, dragged hubby into NESS coz I badly needed some clothes for work and also for CNY. Partly coz they were sporting a sale and I saw the 40%, 50% before anything. So needless to say, CANNOT miss it lor. Immediately, I already 2 skirts and a few tops that I wanna try.

After waiting for a good 20 mins for me to try and all, hubby realised that I am the proud owner of a pink skirt with box pleats and a black top.

I tried on more than 6 pieces, but well cutting and the size does not suit me after all. So end up, only have these 2.

Not quite ready to face CNY with these 2, I swear I WILL GO for more shopping trips within the next 2 months!!!! =P

We passed by the atria and saw that there were some household itmes on sale and we saw fans too. In need of one, we took second and third looks.
Finally, we got one.

To lugg it home on the bus... No joke! Heavy!!!

Though the blessed box says ">7Kg" but try lugging it from Level 2 of J8 to the bus interchange, to onto the bus, to down the bus, to up the stairs, (2 flights of them) and then into the house?! Wah lau...

Of course, hubby will be THE person doing the assembling. I've got other things to do... like, BLOGGING, taking Photos and updating lar!!!

Poor hubby had to to the lugging, so in order to prepare him for the long and tiring journey home... we (or rather I, decided to bring him for a treat to sweeten him up before doing any hard work!) went for a treat in Haagen Dazs. My second visit to their outlets. Coz I had a Citibank voucher so will go else, I hardly step foot into them. Too expensive I feel.

But it was nice. We had their new "Chocolate Journey" which is served with a tiny cup of hot Belgium Chocolate, 3 different flavours of chocolate ice cream! All things chocolately. I LIKE!!!! Hubby had a cup of Cappuccino. And we topped everything off with ice water. hahah. Nice place to sit and just relax. But must say hor, the hot belgium chocolate is abit disappointing. Tasted like milo with "nuah" (over soaked) chocolate biscuits bits.

Having had the treat, we headed home and met our poly friend on the bus. Chatted throughout the bus ride home... and the moment we reached home.. Blogging and msn-ing (of course include in bathing) is what I've been doing since that time.

P.s. Think my photo montash skills is getting better! hahaha.. darn proud!

Woo Hoo!!

Remember I was saying that we were waiting for Ikea to deliver our stuff? The original time was between 2pm-5pm. Surprisingly, they gave a call to hubby early this morning, (when were still IN bed) and said that the delivery will be made between 11am - 2pm!
Woah... much earlier lei. Lucky, we din go to watch the "golden flower" else sure miss the delivery! But then again, since they called us and advaned the delivery, we think it's also coz there isn't much people who bought bukly items and need delivery services. Who will at this time anyway... After Christmas and CNY is not for another 2 months and the sales for CNY has not even begun anyway.
After all the items were delivered, hubby and I set to work. NOT easy in asembling all these things lei! We worked non stop for at least 2 hours just on fixing the cupboards the table LEGS! We had to re-do the cupboards coz the measurement was slightly off.
We decided to try to buy an electric screwdriver or drill when we needed to fix the tables. There are 5 screws to each leg, making a grand total of 60 threadless nails to be screwed in! VERY hard work and we took a break here. Went to the coffee shop for lunch and also looked around for the equipment.
Too bad for hubby, we cannot find any. Poor hubby got to then manually screwed in each and every single nail.
Just after we got home, I got a surprise from Tri. She sent me a sms and within minutes of me replying her, she appeared with her newphew and neice just as I was opening the window! I saw the kids first and was like... these 2 kids very familiar, where have I seen them before and then I looked up and saw Tri! WAH! Got a shock! I never expect her to come with the 2 children.
She passed me my Christmas present and something she bought in KL for me. Very curious as to what it was, coz Tri's neice, Qian told me, "Ah Yee made it herself." My first thought was food... coz I know Tri likes to play around in the kitchen.
When I opened the present. Wah!! Touched lei!!!
She made a skirt JUST FOR ME, H-E-R-S-E-L-F! Immediately I tried the skirt on and showed it to hubby. He says nice! =) Will be sure to take a picture of it when I wear it the next time. And it fitted perfectly ok! Woah!!!
Black skirt for Christmas done by Tri, herself!
She got me this cute bear from KL.

Thank You so much, Tri!!! I like it very much. So touched. Also got a card. The words on the card warmed my heart lots too!

Back to the Ikea things (while I was enjoying my new presents, hubby was still hard at work...) finally after all those hours, Me, standing at the side and played with the legs and erm... gave encouragements to hubby while he continuing the fight with the screws... finally it's done!

Ta DAAAAA!!

I'm typing this virgin entry from my new study desk!

I'm occupying the left hand corner. Hubby will take the right hand corner. The big table in the middle is for both of us. At the moment the table looks neat and tidy. Not sure for how long, we can maintain it this way though. I seem to be having more space coz both our bicycles are at my corner, so had to give me more space if not, sure kena "JAMMED!". BTW, the 'scorpion' looking thing is the "power rider" that we had no place to house it. It is now relgated to under the table.

New bookcase!

And, our new bookcase. No covers to it, so it can get rather dusty. Plenty of cleaning to be done then.

Quite obvious which side of the bookcase is mine right?! I was telling hubby, maybe we should get a bean bag and throw it at where the excerise ball is. Makes quite a good and cozy reading corner doesn't it?

And for the record, ALL the furniture in this current room are furnised by Ikea! The 3 tables, the 2 bookcase, the 2 black chairs and even the drawer set!

Was joking with hubby, if we buy anymore, we can probably make this room into a show room for Ikea! hahahahaha

Quite happy with all these new things. Now, we have our desk and no longer need to hunch over the tablet when I'm using it anymore!!

Eagerly waiting...

Hubby and I are getting excited as the minutes ticked by...

Course... The Ikea things we paid and ordered will be here in another few hours time! We only paid for delivery and not the assembling part.

So after the grand delivery in a few hours, hubby and me will set to work in assembling the tables and cupboards.

I wanted to go and watch "Curse of the Golden Flower" earlier but the show was at 9.30pm and we cannot make it. Was thinking of going to watch the morning show tomorrow but it was at 11am and hubby says 50%, we cannot wake up, the next show is at 1.30pm and we cannot go coz we have to wait for delivery. So, likely, we will miss the show, since we want to be cheapskates and not pay for the full price. hahah... see how la.

Hubby says after the assembly, after clearing up the mess we created from the DIY, we shall sit down to work out our plans for next year. Things like, "where do we want to go next year", "our study plans", "financial plans" amongst other things.

But I'm super happy with the "where to go next year bit" hahaha..

I think Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea are all nice places to start off with! Especially HK in Aug! And this was exactally what I told hubby! His reply to my "HK in Aug"?

"Very happy hor, shopping in HK in Aug? U no need to study hor?" -_-"

=(

A day of Food.

Hubby and me was thinking of what and where to go to spend our day. And I suggested either East Coast or Vivo. I was kind of craving for the lazy afternoons spent in cozy cafes and I know that East Coast has a few of such cafes. Vivo, there's also Pacific Cafe that I can go for their chocolate paradise and just people watch.

Hubby picked Vivo since it looked to be a rainy day. And then with a stroke of ingenuity, I suggested lunch at "Superdog". I saw it last Friday when I went there for lunch with Trina but since I abstain from meat on Fridays, had to give it a miss. But since we are going there today, must give it a try!!! I had chili beef bacon dog and hubby had the set of onions beef I think. I was not feeling particularly hungry and we decided to just take a set and 2 various burgers and we can share the sides.

The food is not bad. But rather pricy I feel. Hmmm... the sides are nice though, I like the fries. =) But compare to Botak Jones, hmmm... this is pricier and somehow not as good I feel.
And they printed a "Hotdog Etiquette" which also serves as the brochure. And it is quite funny.

Take a read if you are there!

My personal favourite?
A hotdog should be eaten in not more than 5 bites except for foot longs.

So, girls, it's OK for us to eat with no regards to our image when eating hotdogs!

But then again, if you are on a first date, unless ur man is a sport jock, you better don't try too... or unless you hope your first date is also your LAST date!! hahahaha...

Walked around and we bought these from Daiso. Snacks and household items.

More like plastic bags to shrink fit our big and bulky items. Don't know if it's useful but at least we tried lor.

If it works then we would have manage to save some of our cupboard space. I heard from Ah Teck that shop and safe has good quality ones.

Well, see how it goes.

I saw the TV program last night and it intro Vivo. So I sort of made Hubby walked round to find all the shops that was on TV. hahaha... I found the sky gardens and also the large Pet shop. Nice lei. Inside got so many small puppies and hamsters! So cute!!! If not for the fact that I'm a lousy pet owner, I would have bought home either a puppy or a hamster!!! So cute and so nice!!! SOOOOOO adorable!!!!!!

Besides going into Daiso to get somethings, there isn't much else for us to get. Wanted to show hubby the COACH bags but Tangs don't carry it. So far, I only know that Taka has a boutique carrying it, can't seem to find it anywhere else =(

We went for tea at Pacific Cafe again. But I tried their Ginger latte... erm... put it this way, still prefer their Chocolate Paradise. Nicer lor. haha... Will stick to that from now on! We stayed quite some time there lei. Just sit there and sip our coffee and chit chat. Best of all, it was still raining, so though we sat outside, it was not hot nor warm at all. In fact, it was cool and when the doors opened, we felt cold coz of the cold air! Nice!!!

We passed by the noodle shop while having lunch and we made our way back to the store. According to hubby, he says the Ke Lo mee is a very special mee that orginated from Sarawak. So since we are so near to such a store, of course must go and try lor!

Hmmm... price is slightly on the high side. But I feel, the ingredients that is given made up for the price. There's plenty of char siew, 4 wantons, 2 prawns and a bowl of soup that comes with each portion of noodles. Not bad. I like their chili. Not that spicy but it was good! The char siew is also tender and not fatty. But, the most important is the Mee. THE main ingredient. It looks kind of normal, looks like maggie mee. But when you eat it, it's springy w/o the noodles kind of taste. Nice.
May or may not go back again, since there's so many other kind of food waiting for me to try. If I've tried all and still prefer this, will definately go back lor.

But, it's worth a try if you have not tried it before!

Post Christmas!

Pouring since last night!

And it was a cold, snugglily morning and that's exactally what hubby and I did! We lazed till after 11am before we were able to pull ourselves out of bed! (Thank God I'm on leave!) But actually made us wake up was Wise's good news. Hahah... Congratulations again, Babe!

Rustled up some food to fill our stomachs and then we went for our proper lunch at the coffeeshop. =) Have been eating too much meat for the last few days and decided to pick more veggies for lunch instead.

Then we slowly made our way to Ikea, I realised I have to put the branch now with the Tampinese branch opened. We went to Ikea ALEXENDRA. (again!) We desperately needed tables to make it more effective and definitely more COMFORTABLY for me to blog, msn and do do my studies next year *which is a few more days.

All I wanted was the tables and legs. But somehow, when you have nothing else to buy, you end up buying even more? Yups, it happened again. The moment we stepped in, hubby was attracted to this shelf that was on displayed.

After discussing and measuring and imagining on where, how and all, we decided to get it.

So all in all, we got 2 boookshelves, 12 planks for the shelves, 2 pairs of crossbars, 3 tables (1 bigger in Birch, the other 2 in white), 12 table legs (4 in white and 8 in silver) 1 pair of bookends and 4 paper files. All in, we are now broker by another $350. Don't ask me where on earth we are going to put all into the current bedroom that is stuffed with 2 bicycles and a stationery exercise bike.

Shall take a pic of the room after it's done.

We were ambitious to want to carry it back in a cab with us. But after just taking from the stacks to the trolley to the cashier, we knew we had to do a home delivery.

So, these are coming in this Friday afternoon. And after that, we will be busy with setting it up and cleaning up of the house.

Abit excited now.

And after all the feasting for the past few days, we gave the famous meatballs and chicken wings a miss. Instead, we had coffee and shared a sliced of cheescake while debating on the colours of the legs and shelves! hahaha And I was just teasing hubby that how come after a year that we are married we are still looking an buying furniture for our house?!

Hubby gave me a very 'clever' reply. Coz it's for study room lor.

Mails

I got lots of shopping orders from the various credit cards that I have.

The companies are sending me MORE cards and yet more glossy magazines tempting me with their dresses, shoes, bags, cosmestics, skin cares and household items and even comfortable looking bed linen!

Can I go shopping, Darling?

Will you pick up the tabs?

I do so like the Coach Soho handbags and also the Canon Ixus camera. Not to mention, that I would love to try the cosmestics provided by Estee, Clarins and also update my so boring wardrobe. Of course, to make our house more comfortable, I will love to have the pots and pans. The Corelle sets and also bed linen.

How Darling, HOW????

Temptation

Saw these at Best Denki on Saturday after mass in Thomson Plaza.

The latest model of Philips, thin, metallic and chio right?!

Their previous model is also similar but the design not as sleek and modern. That model still looks abit orbit and out-of-this-era kinda look and feel.

But if you think this is cool, wait till you see this!!

My all time favourite, Teac! I think I first saw this model early this year and I've been aiming it ever since!!

This is the very first set that I saw that comes with sub woofer and removeable speakers and I fell in LOVE with this set already!!

Well, both sets retails at $399 lor. =( But I think if really want to get, go to Hong Liang at Queenstown area will be cheaper.

But then again, have already been thru this discussion with hubby before lor. Too expensive, no room and no use for it.

Well, I will keep hoping that they stop producing such nice gadets and that the small player we have in the room currently goes kaput soon then we can hopefully get either of this?

So how? Philips or Teac?

Tuesday, September 12

Look what's hanging...

I have a surprise hanging from the tree outside my bedroom window for at least 2 or 3 weeks!

I was surprised that those Bangala workers working at the soon-to-be-errected shelters did not actually use some kind of means to bring it down and claim it as theirs all these while. Can see what it is not? It's actually a pair of bermudas lar. I don't know who lost it, but must be 1 of my neighbours lor. Cannot be next block neighbours and then it get blown and stuck on a tree right?! A wet pair of bermudas I think too heavy to be blown away. And very sure, it's not hubby's nor mine!

And since it was there for sooo long, the next thing that came to my mind was coz, someone had actually install a pin-hole-camera and then threw it into the tree? Well, it's facing a room mar, OUR bedroom, so we undress and erm.. also.. erm.. have our intimate moments in the bedroom right? What if there is a pin-hole in the pair of shorts and then all our actions get filmed?!

Oh NO! Oh NO!!

So scary right? The thought of it makes me shudder liao. I was thinking if there is any possible way for us to like use a bamboo pole to poke the pants onto the ground? And recently, hubby pointed out to me that the pants seem to be coming nearer and nearer to our window, coz the branches are growing, the tree seems to be nearer too! SO how??!

While I was imaging all sorts of pin-hole-camera related stories, emails, case studies, examples... hubby commented, "I think you are thinking too much and being a perfect paranoid."

Humph!!

Monday, August 21

Come, meet the new addition to the family.

Wanted to make some changes to our family items. (Please hor, NOT what u thinking hor. Still NO BB in my stomach yet.) So hor, hubby and me went shopping again lor. =)

Have been thinking that our rice pot is too big and want to change to a smaller one, I heard that will save electricity also if use small pot to cook less cups of rice. And anyway, there's only hubby and me, and we eat like 3/4 cup of rice only. Only on occasions, when my sisters decided to "grace" my home for a meal then i will cook, 11/2 cup of rice. So a tiny cooker will do even if they come lor.

And, we went to CK Tangs. Good, went there got what we are looking for. =) Walked around abit and then found 2 that we like. Price wise is only a matter of 90 cents, both looks about the same too. But different brand lor. 1 is "Toyomi" the other is "Mistral".

And in my opinion, I think "Toyomi" is a more reliable brand for rice pots.. and the inside was with a layer of black oxsidised (sorry lar, cannot spell also) don't know what. If u look closely, can read it on the green sticker on the side of the small pot.
I thought no sale leh, but not bad, still got 10% off. =) happy happy.. and we only paid $35+ instead of the $39.90 :D And what did we do the old huge pot? We gave it to my mom!

Fyi, the old pot made it's debute pot of rice for hubby's RCIA canteen with coconut rice last year, with a full 10 cups rice! And the new pot, make it's debute only last Sat, with 3/4 cups, lunch for hubby and myself!

And this new little guy can only manage 31/2 cups ok. So don't think of coming to my plc for chinese kinda meal lor.. Pot not big enough lor. hahaha

But things like pasta, I can manage tat quite well. Since almost everything comes out fm the can and I just need to heat it up. =D

Friday, August 18

1 down 3 more to go!

Guess what?

1 more of our installment ended this month! And this time, it is the installment for the 四点金 but more like is 四点diamonds lor. This was what my PIL gave us $ to buy last year before the wedding. But coz, hubby and I decided that we want the cash, so we took the cash and paid for the items in installments using credit card.

I remember I asked Godma to go and choose with me @ Lee Hwa. I choose a necklace with pendant, a pair of earrings and a bracelet. Total costs was more than $1.7K. So during this time last year, the $ was really handy. Helped us with bridal things and house things.

Currently, we have 3 more installment plans to pay.. out of which, 2 will be ending in Sep.. hooray hooray!! The last one, was a 2 year installment plan.. Gosh.. Why did we sign so long I cannot remember but don't care and worry so much for now.. All I know is, with effect from Oct 06, we are almost debt free!! *yeh* =)

Saturday, August 12

another week free of cooking =)

I don't know if I should be feeling happy or feeling inadequate at this moment.

I realized, as long as there is just 1 more night that there's something on, it will save me the trouble of cooking for the entire week. =) But most of the time, I still do some light cooking on Sat for lunch. And usually that will be porridge.

For the coming week, we have to go to CTK for the Assumption mass, which is a day of obligation. We decided that we will go for the 8pm mass on Monday.
Tues, eat at my parent's plc
Wed, eat at my IL's plc
Thurs & Fri, eat out. Coz I hv kickbox and hubby will go RCIA wif Jie on Fri
Weekends, we nuah at home and then just go to tapow at coffeeshops.

So, see? Whole week free of cooking again. I'm quite sick of outside food lar. But then if not got to cook leh. Even more sian.. Maybe, Sunday we should go back to my parent's plc to eat.. coz mom don't work on Sundays and I can finally have some time with her and also to eat 'better' food? hahaha.. she usually puts in more effort into cooking on Sundays compared to normal days..

Hm... definately worth consideration!

Ok, got to go now, bathe and get ready to visit my 'Kai Ye' at the nun. She just had a cataract operation not too long ago. Mom says got to give her sme $$.. and she suggested $100.. darn broke leh!!

hai...

Shopping Day!!

Hubby and I are both on leave today! Yipeee!!! and we took our own sweet time in getting up and out of bed and then we hit the towns. =)

I swear, all I wanted to get was another set of bed sheets from the co'zy studio, maybe a corset bra and also some wrappers that Chua BK wants me to get on behalf of the co. Tat's all. But somehow, when u are in the shops, so many things just seem to pop out at you wearing this little sign that says:"Buy Me! Buy Me!" at that little high screeching act cute voice that u simply cannot ignore?!

And so, we bought lots and lots of things! In total, 4 bagfuls of Taka paperbags!! *Whew* So much for 'not spending so much' and 'I din spend alot during GSS 2006!' Hurmp!!!

Bought my bra, let u c abit bit.. and hubby bought a pair of pants (while the tag screams "buy me! buy me!" I only costs $19.90)Hubby's Bought the wrappers, a total of 14 pieces costs me a freaking $30!! Wrappers! Glorious wrappers! Wah lau.. Now I got to think of how to claim the $ =(

Finally went for bf cum lunch cum dinner.. sort of an all in one kinda meal and then we decided to just head to the linen fair in Taka to take a look before we head for Robinsons for the bed sheets. I mean if Taka has it, then wat for walk to Centrepoint right?

Well, they don't have the co'zy studio we were thinking of walking to Centrepoint but hubby says can give the other brand tat we saw a try... so after making a rnd we decided.. heck.. go ahead to get it fm Taka. And this costs us another hundred! hurmp!!! Another set?! Hope it's comfy too!
Since I had to go for facial later, I din want to leave Taka too early lor. We shopped at the basement for a while and we bought 2 thermos flask coz again the darn tagline was gng "buy me! buy me!..." And it only costs a miserable $10 each!! So we buy lor. another 'buy me' Also bought another piece of wrapper to wrap up Lynn's wedding gift. Coz I simply love the wrapper sooo much. Decided to get it.. but darn ex! $3.30 for a piece of wrapping paper!!! Nice?
All in all, we signed away $200 for a corset bra, a pair of pants, a set of bed sheets + 2 pillows, 1 piece of wrapper paper and 2 thermos flask!!! *Faint* All these in Taka alone. And I forgot to add that we bought these fm Paragon as well.. which costs us $30+! for our eyes
Goodnes!! =S

Then I got this after my facial. Just nice to match my dress that I'll be wearing to Lynn's wedding =)purpleish pinky necklace

Good rest @ nites!

Well, as I was saying in my previous posts, hubby and me changed bedsheets and we were both hoping that the new sheets will be comfortable and nice.

Well... They are!! The new sheets are so soft and comfy! Hubby and me really almost fall asleep immediately! And the best of all, it's big enough to cover the whole of our bed!! Yay!! Finally found the right sheets for it.

It's by this brand co'zy. We bought the 420 threadcount and gosh.. though it's soo expensive, it feels sooooo good! Luckily, I asked hubby to get the green set. If not, we won't be able to test it out with our original quilt cover set. Doesn't it match perfectly?
Closer look.
Actually the bed sheets comes with little designs on it, but we figured that no 1 will probably be starting hard at it when they do come over for a visit. So doesn't matter.

Now hubby is complaining that the quilt cover is too rough for his delicate skin. Shd we get new quilt covers as well? hmmm.... But I think more impt will be to get the bedsheets 1st, coz we lie on it, and we can feel the material more. While quilt cover, we cover ourselves with it, won't feel the material much.

OK! Settled, I will be gng for kickbozing again this Thurs, so before I go in, will pop into Robinsons to get another set. Hmmm... Should I get the pink set or the blue set or both? haha.. Actually, I love the designs of the quilt cover. But.. way too ex lar..

Alone on the bedsheets it will be $69 and 2 pillowcases will be $50! So just 1 set wil costs us, $119!! Too ex to change everything la.

Typical weekend

Another weekend has passed. Comfortably, relaxing and enjoying. Haha.. if only all our weekends will be like this.

After mass, go for lunch at AMK. Sat down for a long long time wif Emma and Hubby and chat.. coz it was pouring heavily. Then hubby and me went for a short walk in AMK and manage to get somethings. =)

Then went to J8 to get MORE things.. haha.. I love weekends like this. Where it's so relaxing and just love to spend the time wif hubby. =)

We got some clothings... I manage to get 2 shorts that I can wear at home or maybe to the market too.. Hubby got 2 more polo-tees for himself. I find the orange 1 abit too "M1" la.. but since Hubby likes.. then ok lor. I prefer the lime green but hubby don't like the material.. then too bad lor. clothes for us
Also went to Aussino to get another set of the mattress protector + pillow pads. We feel that 1 set is not enough especially after we washed it and it's not dry yet. So get an additional set! =) 1 mre set!comes with 2 pillow case + the mattress protector

We went to GNC to collect my bottle of evening primerose too.. and we tapow dinner back. Coz we want to watch Xmen2 on TV.
Came home, quickly packed all the things away and then we went for our shower and then since it was already time and hubby desprately wanted to watch the Xmen. He settled dw in front of the TV while I go n cut the veg for salad. Not tough at all and I enjoy doing it too. So no big problem. =)

Yaka Tori bento for dinner
Time to tuck in... Yummylicious dinner!

Though it was a typical weekend, I'm really happy and rested. Coz not on all the weekends u manage to find 1 that is windy and cooling on a hot June Sunday!
