Christmas Eve

A quiet and peaceful Christmas Eve for us this year, just the way we preferred rather than to be caught in human jam elsewhere.

We just have a simple dinner in Fish & Co at AMK HUB. We ordered the Seafood platter for 2 to share and we can't finish everything. The portion's really big. In the end, we had some strands of fries left.

Cam whore while waiting. Hubby enjoying the pumpkin soup. We went to watch Avatar after our dinner. Nice show! Should have bought the 3D tickets instead of the normal movie! Aiyah.. din realized the movie was so good else, would have just paid for it!

Digress... Check out my eyes!! Hee... I plucked out enough courage to try to stick on falsies! pretty? After Cindy taught me some moons back, I din have the chance to try, so this is a good time to practice and try!

heee... I gave myself 1 hour to doll and it was about just nice to put everything together. First time using falsies on my own, got to have more time! I like the effect and I think it is something that I can get very addicted to.. hahahhaha....

Headed to Church for midnight mass. Reached at about 11pm and the place was quite full already. Lucky we still managed to get good seats. Enjoyed the cantata (carols) and then it was mass.

Walked home after mass and by the time we reached home, was close to 2am! Washed up and quickly went to bed.

Now, I'm multi-tasking. Blogging and packing for my KL trip. hahahhaha...

Merry and Blessed Christmas Everybody! May the Christmas spirit brings you and your family much Peace, Hope, Love and Joy!

A Family Prayer

Since sometime ago, the Hub and I decided that we must TRY to pray together nightly for our spiritual and marriage sake.

To be honest, it really is quite difficult to do that, the praying together nightly, coz being converts, we are just not as fluent and not to mention as comfortable in verbalizing our prayers, yar.. not even to each other. Like out of a sudden, just pray. Pray what mann? And How to just pray. We happen not to have the gift of prayer where it becomes so easy to pray.

So, the answer to our praying together nightly is to follow some given prayers from the holy catholic church.

We start off with the most powerful Our Father, then Hail Mary and Glory Be. The most basic most standard prayers.

We attended a Family mass in our church before and there was a prayer card for the family, so we pray that as well.

I really like this prayer, it's so meaningful, sharing it here for anyone who is interested.

Prayer for the Family.

O God, our Lord and King, we thank you for each and every member of our family. We believe that each one of us is your special gift to us. We ask you to forgive us for those times we fail to love and care for one another.

Gracious King, we surrender to you all our needs, problems and heartaches. We implore you to set aright whatever is wrong within our family.

Lord and King, surround each of us with your angels and saints. Protect us from all evil. Send forth your Holy Spirit upon us to increase our faith and trust in you. May the peace of your Holy Spirit flow into our home and remain with us now and forever more.

Amen.

I know following given prayers is not the best, but any teeny tiny baby steps is better than none, so for sometime now, we have been doing this. Once a while, we still get lazy and don't but we are trying hard to really do these prayers before the end of the day.

So far so good for the time being.

Advance ROM celebration

We decided to celebrate our 5th ROM anniversary a few days in advance instead of waiting till the actual day.

Reason being, Hub has a meeting in town and I'm dying to catch the christmas lights in Orchard and also craving for the Crystal Jade Korean food.

So, we killed 2 birds with 1 stone earlier today.

Dinner at Crystal Jade, Ngee Ann City then to soak in the festive mood by strolling down the streets of Orchard as an advance ROM celebration.

The lights are pretty. But not breathtakingly pretty. I find the streets too bright with the white lights though I do like the rest of the lights.

Short and simple night but I'm happy. It's just so peaceful and nice to be strolling down the streets with hubby enjoying the sights and each others' company.

Happy 5th Anniversary in advance, Darling!

Jer hit 3!

A few minutes ago, Jer was hitting the new chapter of his life. The big 3. Now, he is OFFICIALLY in chapter 3, 1 day into it to be exact! heee...

Our usual Bday / anniversary celebration is to go for a meal. I suggested Ma Maison at Bugis, but he wanted Seoul Garden. And so, Seoul Garden we went.

Food's ok. But I do think that variety is much lesser as compared to the past.

Only thing I really really dislike is to smell like BBQ. My hair, clothes, bag and even my HP! =( I'm wondering how long its gonna take before the lingering smell clears. *sigh*

Anyway, I was early and I waited and waited and waited. From an empty restaurant, I waited till it was full and still no signs of the Bday boi!

Oh well, at least we had a window seat. Overlooks Liang Seah street. This lane does brings back memories, we used to come here often when we were doing our wedding prep. Our bridal shop is just down the lane.

I was so bored, till I snapped pics of the spanking clean BBQ hotplate and steamboat bowl. And my own reflection from what is supposed to be Jer's seat. I finally can't take it any longer and so I cooked while waiting, I thought he should be hungry by the time he arrives, can start eating no need wait. And when I was done, he's still not here!Fast forward to after dinner and we asked 1 of the staff to help us take a pic.

First shot. I like this shot. Only thing is, I had to crop the pic as the manager of the store choose this moment to walk out and he's in the frame.

Second shot.Blur. =(

So, that leaves just 1 good shot.

Nevertheless, can any of you tell that my left lower eye lid is swollen? I was a little uncomfortable since yesterday but earlier today, it got more and more uncomfortable and starting to irritate me. Towards the end of the day, it hurts a little too.

Sigh... another episode of eye infection I guess. I just recovered from the last one less than 2 weeks ago! Maybe the bacteria is too strong as I let it heal naturally without going to the doc and the bacteria did not clear totally. I guess, I must go to the doc if the swell is still here on Sunday.

But still, Happy Birthday, Hubby! Love you always!!!

First time in 4 years

I guess, I must give my PILs credit and thus this deserves jotting down.

Since our marriage 4 years ago, countless people have asked when gng to produce some offspring(s). My mom being the no. 1 person. She's been bugging me no end.

Relatives, friends and some colleagues too... but my PIL's have never asked about when we are gng to start producing them some grandchildren.

Today, being the 59th Bday of FIL, he during his traditional cake cutting and wish wishing session had 3 wishes.

First: All at home to be healthy. (I think this is the general wish of every parent.)
Second: That he will still have his PT job. (He's so much happier since he found this PT job)
Third: Where possible, to have an extra someone this day next year. (Of course, one can take it that he meant my YBIL to bring home a wife... only thing is, when he wished for this, he was looking directly at us, or rather me... and MIL was standing right beside me and said "carry grandchild")

I'm not dense, I catch that-very-direct-hint-targeted-at-me-very-clearly.

I would love to say OBIL can go first... but his wife still has another year of studies to go and I guess, they still need to do the traditional wedding ceremony... so, that 'extra someone' most likely got to come from us.

Oh well... Be it have or don't have, it got to come from my Big Boss up there la. All I can say is, once I've cleared my studies, I'm open for trials and errors. But not before I clear my studies.

And just for the fun of jotting down memories, just 2 days ago, a close church friend early early in the morning msn me and said that she dreamt of me sharing my good news with her and that I was very excited and happy.

We shall see if this dream of hers do come true.

And oh. For the record, in case u, my dear friends are wondering if I am stressed out abt PIL's hint, I am NOT at all stressed nor worried.

Firstly, this is the 1st time they mentioned about this topic.. hmm.. the only other time was FIL asked if we are thinking of having kids... but he din openly wished for it. So I guess, not counted. But today was the first time he and MIL said so.

Secondly, if we were not studying, I guess we would have been trying.

Thirdly, my motto is, Have, will have. No have, no have. No use thinking too much anyway.

Oh well, as long, as this qn is not asked too often, I'm Ok.

So conclusion?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, FIL!!!! =)

Something's brewing...

We just met someone today who will be doing an exciting project for us...

I'm excited!

Now, I have 2 things, no 3 things to look forward to in Nov!

End of my course, bestie's wedding and this exciting project!

Shall keep this under wraps... all will be reveal in due time.... heee....

Thanks to someone... U know who u are! =D

4th Wedding Anniversary

Time really flies by quickly and this is already our 4th Wedding Anniversary. So, we took leave on the actual day, 1 Oct 2009, Thursday to spend time together.

Honestly, we did make quite a fair bit of plans.... like Vivo / China Town for brunch, movie, Flyer and then lastly dinner at KPO.

But after working out the traveling and finer details, we decided to just go straight to town for some shopping, ride on the Flyer and lastly dinner.

Headed to Isetan at around noon and we went straight to see if we can get tickets to Cloudy.. I have some Shaw movie vouchers but those cannot be used for the movie and not wanting to spend additional, we decided to not watch any but headed to get my shopping done.

I used up my $60 of Isetan vouchers on Fancl and then we decided to head to McD for brunch.

We could have gone to a nicer place for brunch but I have McD vouchers and we area already going to spend a fair bit on the Flyer as well as dinner so we decided to cut costs and have a simple brunch.

The weather was really nice and we just roam around. Walked over to Ion, spent a short while there and we went to Taka. I was on a quest to Watsons in Taka coz I wanted to buy the MU brushes. I needed badly to wash my 2 brushes at home and I'm handicapped without other brushes... I could have gotten the Body Shop's brushes but those are expensive. 2 brushes would have set me back by at least $50 or so even with discount! The watson's ones only costs me $38 or so for 2 brushes and the quality is quite good. What I like best is that it's eco friendly!

We finally went to ride on the Flyer after getting lost at Ritz... ha! Coz of the F1, there's barricade all round and we have issues trying to find our way out of Ritz!

There's a couple who booked the entire capsule for their ROM ceremony and the capsule is nicely decorated! Quite pretty and so nice, we share the same 'marriage' day! =) Oh.. they went on 2 rounds (or maybe more? I don't know) while we only once. But I guess, 30 mins in the air is enough for us too.

Our turn to get on the capsule and we shared with 3 other foreigners and 4 PRC ppl. Sigh... these PRC are so irritating. Talk damn loud la. The whole cabin can only hear their voice!

But the 3 foreigners are quite nice. 2 of them even volunteered to take our photos for us without us asking!

We had dinner at this Jappy plc, SuKi Ya where we can have buffet sukiyaki or shabu shabu. The meat is nice. Wafer thin and soaks up the soup base. The accompanying sauce is the best! I like it very much! Best of all, it's only $19.90 before GST. No other charges lei.

All in, we had a very nice day. What I enjoyed most was not shopping, the food nor the ride. What I enjoyed the most is the time spent with Hubby! The chit chats, laughter and just the company that we both share.

Happy Anniversary Darling! Love U.

Finally. New Locks!

sheesh... I've been asking Hub to change the locks of the house or to secure it properly to the metal gate.

The metal lock's bracket is too big for the gate so it was always moving and sliding along. I've been having problems with it for a long time. And the lock on the wooden door was misaligned for a long long time. And hub just din bother coz his key no problem mine has!

So finally after the tenant shifted out, on the reason that we cannot be sure that she has not duplicated another set of keys, we SHOULD and MUST change the locks.

It took me another 1 month of nagging to finally get Hub to move.

And he still did not.

I can't take it anymore and I called our renovation contractor and he told me easy thing la. Just change the lock. He'll fix it for us. Bring hub to buy and then fix for us.

YAY!!!

So on Saturday, he came, took out the lock, brought hub with him to Geylang (I think) while I stayed home to guard the house waiting for them to come back.

All was done within 2 hours!

It looked so easy for him to do it lor.

Come, take out lock, bring lock to shop, get a new one, come back, Fix.

He also fixed the store room door lock for us at the same time. I'm happy.

I just don't understand why Hub forever have to wait for me to loose my temper before he finally moves. *sigh*

I also don't want to nag him lei. But tell him nicely, he don't want to listen and keep insisting that the tenant will NOT have a duplicate. How come he so sure lei? Just to be on the safe side ma. No?

Then have to wait for me to loose my temper, argue with him, then he happy and ok lor. change.

Cannot take it.

Anyway, the wooden door's lock change. The store room's lock changed too. And coz I was complaining that the metal lock does not sit nicely on the gate, after mass last evening, we went to home fix DIY and he got 2 metal rings and secure it.

So now, I FINALLY have my locks sitting nicely and changed! At the expense of $100. A little heart pain yes. But I feel safer now though.

Almost 4 years to get it done.

U say can die or not?!

*SIGH*

Mooncake Festival!

The Lunar Eight Month has arrived!

I'm glad. So. VERY. glad that it's finally the 8th month. Not coz of anything, but hey! No more burnings at the void decks! No more additional smoke caused by our own local people! No more dirty footprints, no more strays roaming around for leftover food!

YAY!!!

Best of all, mooncakes are here! Not that I am a fan. I don't particularly like mooncakes. In fact, there's only 2 kinds that I eat.

Yam or Durian.

The rest. Thanks by no thanks. I truly don't know how to appreciate these small round/square expensive little of whatever-sar in them things.

I've always like Crown Prince, Orh Nee (Yam) mooncakes... but after Crown Prince closed down, don't know where to get them anymore. But this year, my girlie told me it's now available from Peony Jade. The 4 chefs of Crown Prince went to them and hence, I've been on a quest to look for Peony Jade.

I finally found it at NTUC, AMK HUB.

My first box of mooncakes this year.Peony Jade - Crispy skin Orh Nee Mooncakes!

No egg yolk. (Those with egg yolks have a red dot on it)I don't know how to appreciate that golden 'moon' inside something sweet as well. And since, its meant for my own consumption, I don't need to get it with yolk. It's already sinful enough without that 'moon'.

This 4 pc of yummies just cost me $39! That's almost $10 a piece. But oh well... once a year, and I do like it. Heart pain pain buy and savor 1 box lor.

All in, I will need to get another 2 boxes of some mooncakes. Parents and parents in law. My family likes orh nee mooncakes as well but Peony Jade only has it in 4 pc... my family prefer the 8 pc kind so that they (or rather mom) can split up the box and offer it to the deities and ancestors.

I don't exactly know which kind my in laws like. The dilemma is I know FIL likes mixed nuts, but MIL is diabetic and have high BP... I try to get those low-er sugar ones for her. But 2 boxes would be too much... so, I guess, I shall just go for something that's low in sugar. After all, there's only 4 of them in the household now, if I were to get them 2 boxes, OBIL would be getting a box and I'm pretty sure PIL will also get a box, then there's like 4 boxes!

Way tooooo sinful for 2 old folks and 2 young and healthy men nevertheless!

Sweet Hubby

Last night, after getting my marked TMA back from the blackboard and realized that I flunked it, I was depressed.

And I told myself, I WILL finish reading the last chapter before turning in. Such was my anger at my own stupidity for failing.

Hubby was at this moment, watching "Blood Diamond" on channel 5. The show ended at 1am and he decided to go to bed. Knowing that I failed, he encouraged me to concentrate and do well for the next 2 upcoming TMAs and he went to bed first.

I finally finished reading the notes at 1.40am or so and I went into the bedroom. There, I saw light emitting from the bed. Curious, I called out if he was sleeping. He replied not yet. He was waiting for me.

Knowing how blind I become after lights off, he recently placed this hand powered torch near the bed... and he will light up the way for me after lights off!

That's so sweet of him, isn't it?!

And today, my tenant shifted out. Her room is in a mess, dirty and dusty. Sweet hub volunteered to clean up the room all by himself, but I helped out a little by vacuuming the room and he mopped and clean up.

Watching him work, I really feel so blessed that I have a hub who helps out in chores and takes pride in doing it well.

Lastly, ever since, I told him that I like to be kissed on my forehead as it makes me feel so secured and loved, he has been doing it. Twice Daily! Once before we part for work in the morning and another before we sleep.

awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww......

I just feel so loved and blessed!

Don't mind me... I just need to 'haolian' about my sweet hub la.

Crab dinner

Crab dinner at Uncle Leong.

My favorite Creamy Butter crab!Ordered a "Gold Dust" something something too.. but not that good lei.

I guess, we have more or less tried almost everything crab dish on the menu and my conclusion is in future, instead of ordering a creamy small crab, I shall ordered just a medium / large size butter crab to go with the man tous for dinner for Hub and I.

Till the next crab meal!

I shall drool for now....

Sunday, July 26

we "morphed" too!

I saw this on Haze's blog for sometime ago and have been wanting to try but I can't get some decent front unblocked shots of ourselves!

Finally after searching through my HP and Camera, I got these 2 shots! And the result is.... Quite cute right? And I think looks more like a girl!

whahahaha...

Photo entry

Finally managed to upload the pics from HP and camera into the PC for last week!

Dinner @ Shokudo with the SW Gang. Part of Hub's and my dinner. Some chicken with rice covered in eggs. Not bad.

We prefer the pizza actually, but we were both too hungry and just ate without taking any pics. There was a 1-for-1 promotion that day too. Very worth!

And a pic of our darling God-daughter! My my, she has grown so much!!

She was looking at Godpa (I think) when this shot was taken. No longer has the baby face, now is really a toddler, and very girly too!

And on Monday, when we took a day's leave.

Katong on a Super Duper Hot Day! Very pretty and colorful Paranakan Building.Hub said, "Must take a pic then can show that we're here, you know!" Ok.ok. So I took...for him standing outside Aston where we just had lunch.

Then we went to Vivo to hang out for the rest of the day.

Super glaring, that's why hub can't even keep his eyes open! Here we are sitting at the un air-conditioned portion of The Pacific Coffee. He had the chocolate paradise and I had the berry something.

Surprisingly, even though it was sooo hot, it was rather breezy and we just sat there to laze, ang mo watched.

Wednesday, July 22

too many things to update!

I have too many things to blog about but so little time and with my final term starting next week, I've not really sorted thru my notes and things to get myself ready.. I'm feeling too lethargic to start to do anything too.

So, a summary of all the key events...

We went for Harry Potter new movie on Thursday... and I'm sooo sooo sooo disappointed. It's definitely the WORST Potter movie ever. I regretted staying up and being so excited over this movie.

Anyway, just for the record, I've collected my notes from SIM on Friday, 17 July. The original plan was to meet Hub for dinner at Ikea. The silly guy pissed me off sooooooo much that the whole evening was spoilt.

I had rushed to go to SIM, pick up notes and then rushed to meet him at Queenstown MRT.

I told him a total of 3,4 times, Queenstown MRT. In the morning, before I left office to go to SIM, when I reached SIM and after I collected my notes.

The guy had to call me (less than 10 mins later) when I was feeling the hottest, the stickiest, the rushiest and feeling the most agitated while handling 1 box of notes in my hand while the rest were stuffed into my bag and asked me "Which MRT har?"

I swear I could have screamed then and there.

Yes. That was the limit. And yes. I got so pissed that we din speak to each other for the whole evening.

And yes. We have made up that night. But that's another episode of our marriage life.

piangs.. why can't men just listen and then get the info INTO the head?

Sigh....

But on hindsight now, I do agree with the Hub that I could have been less angry and just accepted his apologies and we could have had a nice evening in Ikea instead of a wasted evening.

This man. He never fails to amaze me with his sudden deep insights on our marriage.

Anyway on Sat, we met up with Victor & Family, Clement & family for dinner at Shokudo. Food's not bad. We just chatted the night away.

The 2 toddlers have grown so much and they are both so cute. Not talking much yet, but I think the time will be here soon. I think the parents will be going crazy with their endless why.

Sunday, we rested in the day and then we went cycling.

It's been too long since I last exercise. Less than 30 mins later into cycling, I felt faint. Literally faint. Things start to look blur in front of me, heart was thumping way too fast and I could hear buzzing in my ears.

What can I say?

I'm weak. So. very. weak.

Come Monday.. Ah.. This a day I trully enjoyed.

The Hub and I took leave. We purposely traveled all the way down to Katong for the famous egg skin popiah. But the shop was CLOSE!!!!

SOOOOOOOOO disappointed!

No choice, we had Aston for lunch then slowly made our way to Vivo.

Walked and chat and laugh and ang mo watched at Pacific Coffee while sipping and enjoying our chilled drinks.

Though we did not do a lot nor anything exciting... The most exciting got to be buying 2 items at Diaso I guess or maybe deciding what to eat for lunch/dinner?

I don't really care. But it was really good quality time spent together.

The free and ease of going anywhere we want, with no time constraint and nothing to rush to. Just to enjoy each other, chat and laugh.

I felt as though we've gone back to the early dating days and the feeling is so good. I think I fell in love with Hub all over again after that day.

Oh... the surprising thing is, as we walked over to Harbor Front, we even bump into the contractor who renovated our house for us. And it's a good thing that we met him. He changed his hp number! And I've been recommending him to my friends who needs a contractor.

As I sit here to type this, I'm still basking and reeling in from the 1 day leave and time spent with Hub.

Suddenly, this week don't seem as blue and definitely much much shorter and not to say so much more enjoyable and fun!

I certainly hope the feeling is mutual and that the Hub enjoyed it as much as I did. I think he did coz that very night, he said "I think we should do this again after your exams in Nov. It's so relaxing and good for us."

^.^

Sunday, July 12

Super clever lor.

Damn Pissed off.

Why is it every single time, you can only do as you are told and not a single step more?

ARGH!!!!!!

When will you ever learn to be more active around the house?

Do I really have to list down every single bloody step before something can be done?!

I really really think that you are driving me closer to my graveyard!

ARGH!!!!!

Different smelling sense

I've already forgotten this incident, but this morning, I suddenly remembered and thought I'll do my memory justice and blog about it.

Some weeks back, Taka was having their sale and the Hub and I went.

I showed him the gorgeous Juicy Couture shop at Level 4 and then proceed to drag him to Level 1 to show him the fragrance that I was lemming for.

He took a whiff, made a face and commented that it smells too sweet and a tad familiar. Just that he cannot recall what it reminded him off. But the general comment was, "Not nice." Um.... "not nice" being the polite way of saying.

After putting some distance between the over-enthusiastic SA and us, a few Indian / Myanmar nationalities walked past. The Hub was busy making many other comments, most of which I’ve forgotten now but 1 comment came back to me this morning.

“It reminds me of those scent that they (*eye signals to the group that just walked past) wear!!”

I was incredulous! The scent, granted is sweet, very vanilla maybe and too flowery. But I did like it!

The Hub after making the association, laughed and laughed and laughed. Infected by him, I burst out laughing too.

His final comment?

“Don’t tell people you are my wife if you wear THAT scent out.”

On hindsight, minus the pretty bottle, I honestly don’t really like the scent as much as I did.

Ha!

After this hilarious incident, I know for sure, there is no way that I’m going to get this pretty little thing anymore.

My latest lemming for fragrance is the Pure White Linen Pink Coral (Eau de Parfum Spray) by Estee Lauder. Which, apparently won the Hub’s nose and his approval.

He likes my previous Pure White Linen (L) and current Pleasures (R) both fragrances from Estee. Think his nose quite atas, Estee.

I think I shall keep it safe and stick to Estee… else I may honestly be given the ultimatum and really have to declare to people “nah… I’m not his wife.”

Cute Girl

Was having dinner at Prata House after mass last night (Sat) and when we were halfway thru our dinner, a mother came in and sat in front of us with 4 of her children.

The youngest of which was seated in her pram and was eating a banana.

She kept looking over to us and when when we smiled at her, she smiles back! So cute and pretty! Then I sat on my seat and shake my head and body a little, she followed suit!

I was having a good time playing with her, hubby too and we each snap a few shots of her. She's so cute. Big eyes and so friendly! I really want a girl just like that too!

I think she has mixed blood, her siblings all look a little Eurasian and Asian. The mom seems to be Philippino, the white kind. Whoever the daddy is, the children all look pretty and handsome. 2 boys and 2 girls. Such a perfect combination!

We went to NTUC and bought some groceries, some of which will be our lunch for tomorrow or lunches for the coming week. Frozen processed food, I know it's not healthy to be eating those often but to bring to work, these would be the most convenient.

This was my any-how cooked lunch for today (Sunday).Udon with veggies, corn, crabmeat, Japanese fishcake in Ikan Bilis (Diaso) & Mushroom broth.

To my surprise, my tenant came out and commented "Nice smell! What you cooking?"

And to my absoulte delight, the food turned out nice! I was expecting it to be very blend coz I did not use any other seasoning and Udon can be very blend!

We ate it all, soup and every single thing in the pot.

Next time, I shall experiment more and see if I can do other kind of 1-dish meals. So simple and save effort in cooking and washing since there's very little things to wash!

Foodie Post

Just some pics of yummy food that we have had...

Beef something something @ Coffee Club Express within Kinokuniya in Taka.Blackberry coffee.I like it that it has jelly bits in it as well.

Was craving for Korean food and hence, to reward myself, we went for a Korean dinner on the day I got my grades...

Refillable sidesWe like the toufu, potatoe salad and cucumber best. The rest, not fantastic.

SoupThere's seafood and lots of toufu in it. We requested for less spicy since Hub can't take spicy things well.

FishNot bad la... But I have tasted better ones in Thomson Plaza Food court.

BimbimbabNormal.

High Tea

Had high tea buffet with my 2 sisters, mom and Hubby earlier today at Lao Beijing @ Novena Square.

Service was not bad, not much crowd and food was ample. Some of the items on the menu were on the buffet table while the rest were served when we place orders.

The various dumplings and noodles had to be ordered but for a start, each of the dumplings will be served without us having to order and we can re-order as much as we like. But we did not. There are plenty of other things to be eaten and we had our fill.

The only item that we could have 1 serving each is this...

Self wrapped Popiah.

On the menu, it's call "special popiah" or something to that effect.

Erm... the only special is that we got to self wrap lor. What others so special? Nothing what.

Each of us only can have ONE serving, so I told my sisters, mom and hubby that we have to take a pic of our creation before eating BUT hub's popiah was already in his stomach, hence, there's only 4 popiahs on picture.

Clockwise, Top left, Mom's, Youngest Sis, Middle Sis and lastly mine.

We all had a good laugh over our popiahs. Mine's flat and fat! Mom's looks the best.

Of course mine will look flat and fat... look at the liow in mine!

BOUNTIFUL!

We went to Plaza Singapura later on and I bought loads of Japanese condiments that will go with rice, good for those days when I'm too lazy to go to the market and we are too lazy to go out to eat too.

Various Japanese condiments for our choosing, includes a miso soup base somewhere in there.

Of course, I know its not healthy to be eating all these too frequently. So I shall space it out. These are really so convenient for those mornings when we decide to bring our lunch.. just cook rice and pour this on! Or just bring a sachet and do it when we are ready for lunch.

In addition to these, hubby was walking around and he found this.

Knob replacements! Hence, instead of spending more on a kettle, he found the knobs which he can use on the kettle lid.

To give a general idea.... this is how my kettle lid looks like now.

SEE! I wasn't exaggerating when I said my lid was in 3 pieces!

The bad news is, the screw on the knob is too big.... Hubby spent at least 20 mins expanding the hole on the lid. The knob finally fitted BUT, my kettle will no longer whistle.

That flab that is making the whistle is just too difficult to fit in... so either we spend more $ or we live with the non-whistling now.

I guess, since the kettle has no hole underneath and can still serves its fundamental purpose of being a kettle, i.e. to hold water to be boiled, then we shall keep it.

It IS the economic recession after all, though it certainly DON'T look that way when we were in PS.
