clumsy me... and another day out shopping

A few days ago, just as the hub and me were leaving home to go for dinner at the nearby coffee shop, and in my haste and as much as my tiny baby hands will allow me to, I tried to take the purse, tissue and also my water bottle.

In that split second, the water bottle slipped from my hand and went down to the floor leaving a huge puddle of water and a wide gaping hole in my bottle. *sigh* As much as the water is a mess to clear, I sighed for my bottle. I generally do carry a bottle of water with me when I go out and now my perfect size bottle is gone. *sigh*

Yes, we are gng for dinner but as much as possible, I try to bring my own water, since I'm trying to reduce carbonated and caffeinated drinks, bring my own water is the easiest.

Hub suggested getting another bottle since it was so cheap, $7 or so from NTUC but I declined. Seeing the quality of the bottle when it fell from my dining table to the floor and the mess it created out of my clumsiness, only a better quality bottle will suit my needs.

And I know just the brand that I'm gng to get! Nalgene! I have 2 Nalgene bottles currently. A 1L and a 300ml. It's too big and too small for bringing around with me. The 1L is in office, and it serves as my water jug and heater (the AC is amazingly cold!). The 300ml, served me fine till I realized the hub drinks from my bottle when we go out! *argh* This was still fine till our tap water is ermm.. u know... recycled. Since then, I've not refilled bottles at any water cooler nor tap water.

Both bottles have been dropped from various heights (my full height when standing with heels no less) to the floor when filled with water, stored HOT water direct from the pantry and it's still in perfect conditions only with scratches on the outside. I swear by Nalgene bottles for durability and of course the ability to take heat of up to 100 degrees is awesome. I just literally fill the bottle with hot water direct off the pantry!

Hence, today, the hub and I went to Queensway S.C. We were there to check out some Duffles to be muffin's diaper bag, for me to get my Nalgene bottle and also to get my pair of swim shorts.

We saw lots of Duffles, but either the zip is the "U" shaped kind or its too big or too small, just haven't found 1 that suits our needs. No sight of swim shorts in sight too. But I did get my new Nalgene bottle!

Pretty in Pink and woah BPA free too. I thought only babies bottles are BPA free even bottles like these comes w/o BPA now. Such a pretty and nice color too! hahahha..

From the Nalgene Website...
"The Next-Next Generation of Nalgene bottle is here. This bottle has 53 mm opening, making it right between our current wide mouth and narrow mouth. The cap features a molded in loop, providing a convenient spot to clip or a nice finger loop for simple, comfortable carrying. Graduations are molded right into the bottle. This bottles capacity is 24 ounces or 750 ml. The cap also has a soft touch material for easy gripping.

Being so near to Ikea, we went there for more of muffin's things and also to rest. Ikea is freezing cold too and the hub filled my new Nalgene with hot water and we used it as a heater! hahaha... it really works very well.

Over at Ikea, we got those plastic soft bibs,1 hard plastic bib set and high chair with removable table for muffin. Ya, very KS I know. The muffin is still in utero and we already gotten high chair... but since we're there, there's stock (coz someone told me, forever OOS wan or missing parts but hor, there were PLENTY, in fact BOXES and BOXES of chairs, legs and tables for the choosing) and while there's no physical muffin + muffin's diaper bag to get in the way, we just buy and store somewhere first.

Time to start heading home the items are bulky and are weighing us down. Put down all the things and rested and mulled over what or where to go for dinner then to our boring J8 again.

And this time, towels and cot bumper for muffin while I finally got my swim shorts.

I'm beginning to feel kind of left out here... all if not most of our loots are muffin's now. And I have a feeling, there's still plenty more of such trips to go!
